A buyer guide for trade businesses
Exclusive contractor leads. Know what you are buying.
An exclusive lead goes to one business through that seller. It is a chance to speak with a homeowner, not a booked job. Check the project, the area and the terms before you pay.
Ask about your trade and town
Exclusive does not mean the job is yours.
TradeLeo does not resell a purchased lead. The homeowner can still ask other businesses for estimates. Your follow-up, estimate and work are still your job.
Try the fictional buyer demoWhat exclusive means
Ask the seller exactly who can receive the same request. A lead offered to several businesses is shared. A lead sold to one business by that seller is exclusive. Neither model stops a homeowner from shopping elsewhere.
Do not assume that buying a lead gives you an exclusive town, trade or future project. Those are separate terms. Get the service area and what counts as a duplicate in writing.
A lead or a whole site?
- Shared leads
- A request can reach other businesses through the same service. Ask how distribution and payment work before joining.
- Exclusive pay per lead
- You choose a suitable request and pay for that lead. At TradeLeo, a purchased lead is not resold. Read its details and the current buyer terms first.
- Website rental
- You rent a local site. Its new requests go only to its renter. That site's requests are not also sold to other businesses. Rental and pay-per-lead are separate modes.
Read what to check before renting a contractor website if you want the site's future requests rather than choosing individual leads.
Check the fit before buying
- Work: Is the homeowner asking for a service you actually provide? Read the scope, not just the trade name.
- Area: Can you visit this ZIP code and do the work there? Travel can make a small job a poor fit.
- Timing: Does the requested start date fit your crew and current jobs?
- Contact: What details unlock after purchase, and what permission did the homeowner give?
- Terms: Read the price shown in your buyer account, payment rules and bad-lead credit policy before confirming.
TradeLeo checks for obvious spam, area fit and possible duplicates. Review does not prove a person's identity, every project detail or an intent to hire. The buyer terms explain credit requests and exclusions.
Track what happens after delivery
Choose who will make first contact before you buy. Ask about the work, confirm the area and agree the next step with the homeowner. Keep a record of attempts, estimates, won work and why a request did not fit.
Judge a source by your own saved outcomes. Keep the amount spent on leads separate from the cost of estimates, travel, materials and doing the job. A delivered lead, an answered conversation and a paid job are different outcomes.
For painting businesses, the existing painting-lead cost guide explains price per lead versus cost per job. Its supplier figures have their own source dates; they are not a TradeLeo quote.
Ask about a real market
TradeLeo has homeowner sites for painting in Temecula and concrete in the Phoenix metro. A live website does not prove there are leads for sale or a rental ready today.
Tell us your trade, town and the kind of work you can take. We confirm the fit and availability before anything is agreed. We do not guarantee leads, calls, jobs or Google rankings.
Questions before you decide
Can the homeowner still contact other contractors?
Yes. Exclusivity describes how the seller distributes the lead. It does not stop the homeowner from requesting other estimates or choosing another business.
Does an exclusive lead include a booked job?
No. You still need to reach the homeowner, confirm the scope, give an estimate and win the work. A lead is not a guaranteed job.
Are rented-site requests also sold as individual leads?
No. A TradeLeo site uses one business mode at a time. A rented site sends its new requests only to its renter; those requests are not also sold to other businesses.
Your business. Your area.
Ask what fits your trade and town.
Tell us where you work and the jobs you can take. We check the fit and reply by email. No payment, buyer account or rental is created by an inquiry.
